One month ago today, America celebrated Juneteenth as an official holiday. Thank you to everyone who supported Don’t Shoot Portland  as a way to honor the end of slavery in America. Social change is only possible when we join efforts. By donating and volunteering you lessen the burden of our work while making it possible for us to give back.

Thank you for helping us to uplift the Portland community through free food, direct community based resources and public service. Please continue to find ways to support community organizing efforts in Portland!

This Juneteenth we unveiled the second half of our 2021 Readers List. There is no greater way to invest in Black futures than to enrich youth with knowledge that affirms and inspires creativity. We must learn our history (you, me, ours) in order to dismantle oppressive systems and build new communities of care together. Please find our full book list for 2021 here.
