Juneteenth Celebrations

Join us for our annual Juneteenth celebration this coming week with activities kicking off Monday through Saturday. We are honored to be doing this week of service in partnership with Our Streets PDX, a local mutual aid group that has been able to support so many communities in our City of Roses through their many acts of public service. Thank you to all of the volunteers who make this work possible by lending your time and resources - we appreciate you all and couldn’t do this without you!

We were recently included in the

Physicians for Human Rights

annual report for our investigative advocacy work in banning tear gas in the city of Portland. Our

Riot Control Agents Report

,

published in June of 2020, not only illuminated mass disparities against systematically marginalized groups, but it also proved the irreparable harm being committed by law enforcement agencies.

On June 19th, we invite you to meet us at Portland’s Best Food Cart, Kee’s Loaded Kitchen, where we will be covering all of the days’ meals in honor of Juneteenth! If you’ve yet to try Kee’s Loaded you will be in awe of her flavorful creations -

one meal at #Loaded can feed one - three people!

 We will be set up with a table, please wear your mask and social distance when you are approaching our volunteers. There will be free artivism and youth activist bags filled with beautiful Black books, art supplies and educational materials for you to explore your creativity as it relates to social justice. In honor of Juneteenth, we’ve given out $30,000 in donations to local groups who have been working hard to build communities of care;

Our Streets PDX

Sanctuary Produce Farm

 and

Peacekeeper Society

are incredible groups with missions that are dear to the work we do - please lend your support to them and continue to help us support this outreach by giving as you can.

Your recurring donations have made our work possible.

Please continue to share and support - our community action counts on it!

If you missed our virtual

Spring Break Out

, the full series of edited videos will be out in time for Juneteenth on our

YouTube channel

with captions. Look forward to seeing them on all of our socials as well - thank you so much to our panelists and to our media team who made the program happen!
