Right wing violence in America + the McMichael/Bryan trial begins this week

Thank you to Mental Health Alliance for having Don’t Shoot Portland board members to talk about the history of policing in Portland during your recent meeting. We are always appreciative of these opportunities to engage in these conversations and learn from one another.

The McMichael/Bryan trial begins this week as three white supremacists, Gregory McMichael, Travis McMichael and William Bryan, will be tried for the murder of Ahmaud Arbery. Judy selection in the state of Georgia is officially underway. The proceedings will be available to watch here.

Last week marked the 60th anniversary of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee’s multi-generational conference, which was held virtually this year. Please catch up on the essential discussions that took place during the three day conference here.

Peacekeeper Society is currently hosting an art auction to raise funds to support their emergency response program with Indigenous communities in the PNW. Their outreach has changed lives for thousands of families in need, and this art auction is an opportunity to continue making their work sustainable.
