October First Thursday: Fall Artist Talk & Closing Reception at The BLACK Gallery powered by DSPDX!

Fall is finally here and with it we are excited for cooler weather and more opportunities to inspire community through art and social justice!

There has been such a meaningful response to Resistance Is Happening Now and we are so honored to have these important conversations with visitors committed to the shared vision of social change for all.

Your interest and willingness to show up is never underestimated and we are grateful to have a physical space that allows for creative, critical thinking and genuine participation!

Thank you to Professor Yoli Ngandali from Reed College for bringing in your Anthropology class for a wonderful visit last week! We are always interested in collaborative work with educators and students in regards to our ongoing Liberated Archives research series and are happy to accommodate groups and class tours.

Please reach out to info@theblackgallerypdx.com for more details about educational outreach and community engagement opportunities at the gallery!

ART BUILD AT PNCA WITH DON'T SHOOT PORTLAND

Saturday October 26, 2024
11am to 3pm at Pacific Northwest College of Art

Join us for an exciting hands-on art build at the Pacific Northwest College of Art! At this community printmaking event, we will create art for our annual Reclaim MLK community action taking place in January 2025.

During this event, you'll have the chance to work alongside talented artists and activists, using various mediums including screenprinting to express your creativity and make a statement. We'll explore different themes and techniques, sharing ideas and inspiration.

Reclaim MLK honors the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the fight for racial justice and human rights. This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and contribute to a collective effort that aims to bring about positive change in our community. This is a family-friendly event. Everyone is welcome!

Eventbrite link can be found here.
