Reclaim MLK 2025!

On January 18, join Don’t Shoot Portland at the Pacific Northwest College of Art for an art build ahead of Reclaim MLK March!

This art build will feature free educational programming, including a presentation from ACLU ‘Planning for a Second Trump Presidency’, walk-in legal resources by PCC Clear Clinic and Protest With Purpose, providing mental health support by Mayfield & Associates.

For those in need of direct legal services, we will have pro-bono attorneys from PCC Clear Clinic providing eviction expungement, legal name and gender marker changes, tenant advocacy, and referrals to their free eviction defense as well as immigration legal services. These services are completely free of charge and intake will only take 15-30 minutes. We encourage you to share this important legal opportunity with those in your network who could find it useful!

Create meaningful art, learn from local organizers with resources and meet your Portland neighbors to cultivate community and impact.

On Monday, January 20th, 2025, join Don’t Shoot Portland in celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on his birthday and Inauguration Day. This is a day to unite, reflect, and amplify the voices that drive change.

We are proud to partner with ACLU Oregon, Dr. Tee Mayfield and Associates, Next Up Oregon, PCC Clear Clinic, Pacific Northwest College of Art and other local organizations dedicated to social justice and humanitarian solidarity. We invite you to march with us to honor the dream, uplift community power and create the world we want to see, together!

We're gathering at 11AM and leaving the park by 1pm.

This years’ event will feature:
    - Collective Statements & Speeches On Local Issues
    - Centering Voices of Our Youth
    - Music, Art & Community

Dr. King taught us the power of collective action and the importance of lifting every voice. If you feel moved to share your truth or offer words of hope, let us know—your voice deserves to be heard.
