It’s COLD outside.... Let’s Help + #CarryTheNames for Dia De Los Muertos

Tonight we held a legal workshop and intake at the Allen Fremont Plaza Apartments, a senior housing development in the Boise-Eliot neighborhood. An online search will show you that this specific community has been set up for failure time and time again.

We must demand better for our elderly.

We are forever grateful for your support which in turn provides the assistance our communities need and deserve. We thank you. Sign up for our legal referral services by completing our intake form here.

It’s almost here! On November 2nd, we will be celebrating Dia De Los Muertos all day long with Maria Garcia of Revolución Cafe. Fyndi Jermany, the muse for the above painting by local artist Hampton Rodriguez, will also be singing during the event - do not miss her beautiful talent! We will have master Paraguyan harp player Antonio Centurion performing as well. From 2 to 9pm, we will spend the day crafting, celebrating and reflecting on loved ones we have lost in our lives.

Please bring pictures of your dearly departed to place on our beautiful altar at Portland Art Museum. This altar exhibition was curated by local Mexican artist Eduardo Cruz in conjunction with this cultural celebration. Reach out here to upload files and we will print and place them for you! Use ‘Carry The Names’ as your subject email. Include up to 3 pictures and the names of your loved ones.

Don’t forget - free entry!

We will have food, music and art - this is an event we would love to have you for.

As the days grow colder, we are in need of warm clothing items like gloves, socks and blankets more than ever. Please come by our N Portland location, DCBC at 14 Killingsworth Street or reach out for us to schedule a pickup of donations! Let’s continue taking care of each other.
