Stay Home, Stay Creative

The passing of one of Portland’s greatest philanthropists and advocate for the arts, Arlene Schnitzer, was felt heavily this weekend. Not only was her family deeply embedded in our cities history, but she personally impacted Don’t Shoot Portland as well. Our publishing of Isaka Shamsud-Din’s 18 month Juneteenth calendars was made possible through her generous support. Thank you Arlene Schnitzer for caring about the arts, our city and our children. Calendars can be purchased through Isaka Shamsud-Din’s Studio Store.

Have kids stuck at home? You can't control art!

If your children are signed up for our Youth ARTivism programming, please keep in mind that we have free art supplies, canvas materials and more for economically disadvantaged families in need of resources for children. These are all unused, fresh, shrink-wrapped and safe to use.

Let’s keep our children busy, inspired and creative while we have them indoors. Backpacks and other school supplies are available as well. Sign your children up if they are not already!

Please support our work as you are able - this allows us to continue impacting the community and families that need us the most.

Our Liberated Archives will be coming online in the next few weeks - keep updated on our next newsletter for times and dates. Legal Aid Services of Oregon will be hosting a housing workshop covering the latest updates on Oregon evictions - please contact us if you’d like to join this programming. These are completely encrypted and confidential correspondences, and we encourage you to reach out.
